Daryl Robinson

Daryl Robinson, Assistant Professor and Director of Organ Studies at the Moores School of Music at the University of Houston and Cathedral Organist for Christ Church Cathedral, Houston, has earned critical acclaim as a solo and collaborative artist. Described by London-based Choir and Organ Magazine as a performer with “...a driving muscular poetry underpinned by nimble technique and nuanced sense of style...”, Mr. Robinson earned both First Prize and the Audience Prize in the 2012 American Guild of Organists National Competition in Organ Performance.

Robinson has performed across the United States, internationally throughout Europe, the United Kingdom, China, and South Korea. Recent convention performances include solo recitals for the Organ Historical Society (Rochester, 2018) and national and regional conventions of the American Guild of Organists, including Boston (2014), St. Louis (2015), and Houston (2016), where his performances were praised by The American Organist Magazine as demonstrating “...lawless technique and rhythmic verve...”

Multiple critically acclaimed solo and collaborative commercial discs featuring Mr. Robinson are available, including the first commercial solo recording of the organ at Walt Disney Concert, American Fantasia (Gothic Records, 2017), which features six world premiere recordings, five of which were commissioned by Mr. Robinson. Other discs include: Sempre Organo (ProOrgano Records, 2013), Carolae - Music for Christmas (Naxos Records, 2016), and As you set out for Ithaka (Albany Records, 2013).
